Welcome to the official Orient of California, Grand Prize winner, 2001 “Excellence in Publication Award, Internet Category” Internet Website of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction of the United States of America. The Orient, (State) of California consists of 20 Valleys (Cities) of Scottish Rite Masonry in Bakersfield, Burlingame, Fresno, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Northern California, Oakland, Orange County, Palm Springs, Pasadena, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Stockton and Ventura with a membership of approximately thirty five thousand (35,000) Scottish Rite Masons in these California Valleys.         Please look around this website to learn more about Scottish Rite Masons, and the history of all 20 Valleys, in the Orient of California. The Scottish Rite has adopted the plight of children with language learning disorders as its philanthropy, and has established a program for addressing these problems in children. The Scottish Rite has adopted the plight of children with language learning disorders as its philanthropy, and has established a program for addressing these problems in children. 178 Rite Care (Childhood Language Centers) clinics, centers, and special programs operating or planned for children and therapists located throughout the United States. Children are tested to determine the extent of their particular disorder, and are then placed in a program that is specific to their need. These services are provided to children and their parents without charge. On this site you will find information about the locations in California and about our Order, along with contact information. Additionally, please check out the section on the Scottish Rite birthplace for information and history on the founding of Scottish Rite in Charleston, South Carolina on May 31, 1801.           Scottish Rite Masonry is a part of the Masonic family and in Scottish Rite we challenge men to be better spiritually, morally and intellectually through a series of degrees from the Fourth to the Thirty Second Degree.
